Echoes of the Past

Abandoned by her mother and kidnapped as a child, Lu Qingqing returns to her family as an adult, but faces neglect and misunderstanding due to her cousin, Lu Jiajia. At 28, she's diagnosed with stomach cancer and feels no desire to live. On the brink of suicide, her mother and brother, Lu Yao, heap verbal abuse upon her, shattering her remaining hope. Desperate to escape her family's shadow, Lu Qingqing plans to end her life in solitude. Just then, Song Mingxiu, concerned for her safety, seeks her out. Learning of her tragic past, Song Mingxiu offers to share his burial plot with her, explaining that a joint grave would make it easier for their loved ones to visit after they're gone. Lu Qingqing agrees, and they forge a bond, promising to be each other's neighbors in the afterlife.
